Information systems has a significant role to play in all sectors including mechanical engineering industry. They are used to store and manage data, as well as to facilitate communication and collaboration between engineering teams. With the help of information systems, mechanical engineers can access data quickly and efficiently, allowing them to make more informed decisions and improve productivity. Information systems also enable engineers to conduct analysis and simulations to explore the possible outcomes of different scenarios. I have observed that at workplaces there are no silos. A mechanical engineer cannot just simply work with mechanical engineering tasks. There is a lot more to be handled in a production environment and, considering that everything has IT at the core, it is imperative for an engineer to be familiar with the nuances of information systems. I would like to pursue information systems course at this university to add another dimension to my knowledge before I start work.
I would like to learn in detail about networking, security, how systems are set up and administered, their role in organizations, data management, systems analysis and design, and communication. I have chosen this program because it is comprehensive and covers all topics that must be learnt. It starts with a foundational training to familiarize students with what is to follow, and then proceeds to give students thorough training through lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical project work. All the while, students are evaluated to test their grasp and knowledge levels.

Classes/projects
Projects are intrinsic to studies. I have completed the undergraduate degree course in mechanical engineering in 2022 with an overall score of ……….. I did a minor project on Coordinate Measuring Machine that can be integrated into a CIM information network. This is when I developed an interest in information systems.
The major project was Fabrication of Wave Energy Generator using permanent magnet linear generator. This is aimed at helping people living on the coast to get the benefit of electricity to power their small requirements.
Leadership/community experience
I am active in sports. I used to play football and cricket and was part of the college team that participated in several tournaments. I was also a volunteer in an NGO that engaged in community services in our region.
I aim to be capable and efficient in everything I do. Knowledge is power and it is also helpful in improving confidence to tackle challenges in life. For me, this course poses a challenge but with hard work I will succeed and justify the university granting admission to me.
Career goals and how this course will help
India is home to thousands of manufacturing units. Mechanical engineers with knowledge of Information Systems are required everywhere, especially in the technology-enabled sectors. I am sure to find a good job as a production in charge with this degree adding to my qualifications. I will be able to progress rapidly and become Chief Engineer of a company in a couple of years. This course, by equipping me with knowledge of information systems, will help me to be a better engineer and a better manager. My success in life will all be due to this course.
