Spheres of Business analytics is rapidly growing providing professionals with the opportunity to gain insights into the performance of businesses and organizations. By utilizing data-driven techniques and tools, I will be able to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in order to improve decision-making processes.

I buy regularly from Amazon and back then I wondered how they could keep track of customers, their searches and preferences, and make recommendations. I also saw how Google’s Gmail always offered ads relevant to the subjects of mails. Later on I understood that it is data that is at the core of all these activities and analytics that helps such companies to stay on top. Even while I was studying computers for the degree course I saw that business analytics had immense potential. After working for three years I realize that it is time to take a step forward and become a specialist. I choose to specialize in business analytics and that is what brings me to this course and this university.

I have studied various IT topics such as programming in C, Java and Python upto a certain level. We were taught about databases and the use of SQL. I learnt about architecting software and analyzing business needs to develop software that gives the intended results. I would now to focus more on databases, database analysis, SQL, statistical analysis, use of tools such as Power BI and R and the use of artificial intelligence with ML to derive actionable intelligence.

I have chosen this program because it starts with a refresher and basics in business analytics. It then proceeds to teach students about various interconnected topics and how to implement knowledge in practical work. Theory is balanced with project work and, possibly, internships so that students receive all-round training and become job-ready.

I believe that studies here will give me expertise in business analytics and it will also help to develop my personality.

America has the finest system of education that has been fine-honed over 200 years. The system here is far different from the one prevailing in other countries where passing exams is the chief goal. In America, students must learn and demonstrate full mastery of their topics. Students are taught to innovate and strike out on their own. I believe that it is this enlightened system that has given the world companies like Google and Microsoft and people like Steve Jobs. America is also culturally diverse and yet people live here in harmony.

I interned in Genpact and then worked for three years after I graduated in computers in 2016 with a score of …..%.

My chief, capstone project was Equity Analysis in IT sector.

Even while I worked I kept on referring books and online sources to enhance my knowledge and stay current with recent advances in technologies.

Leadership/community experience

While I was in the 12th standard I won the 1st prize in the district level competition. I am sincere and have an innate desire to do more. I like to take on challenges and to achieve goals. In the present instance, my immediate goal is to complete studies in business analytics and justify the university’s selection of me as a candidate by doing well and contributing to various activities on campus.

Career goals and how this course will help

India is growing fast. Businesses are transforming to modern technologies. International companies are operating here and local companies are emulating their system of working by incorporating analytics into their operations. I think the field is wide open and that there will be a growing demand for business analysts in the time to come. Multinational IT companies like IBM and Google are operating in India. I aim to get a job in these companies as a junior analyst and then progress to a senior position before eventually becoming team leader and then project head. I am sure that I will succeed in my career and in my life. This will all be due to this course. I will forever be grateful to the university for the precious gift of education.
