Business Analytics has emerged as a widely growing field in the broader spectrum of commerce and management. Companies seek out the edge in decision-making processes and have started applying digital or IT processes, to come up with effective frameworks for data interpretation and decision-making processes. The rising tide of competition along with the introduction of new-age technology has brought about a rise in demand for professionals in Business Analytics. My interest in the same stems from my academic background and other related experiences, all of which I have detailed underneath.
I have passed my matriculation exam from …………………….. in the year ………. with a score of …… I passed my intermediate exam from ………… College, in ………. with a score of ………I went on to complete my graduation with a score of …… (up until the 5th semester). It is worth noting that I am currently waiting for my final semester results, which shall be out soon this year. The subjects that I have studied during my graduation include Business Communication, Business Organization, Business Mathematics, Financial Accounting, Business Environment and more. So, it is quite evident that my academic background lays down the fundamental ground for my career in Business Analytics. Having learnt several subjects pertaining towards Business Studies, I have developed the basic knowledge-base required to excel in higher studies for the aforementioned discipline. Before moving into the specifics of my professional ventures, let me quickly elaborate upon my reasons to travel to the USA and pursue higher studies in the California State University.
The USA undoubtedly holds/sustains its position as one of the global leaders providing world class educational facilities. Moreover, the country started the digital revolution, wherein the globalization of IT and digital services has led to the emergence and exploration of disciplines such as Business Analytics. Studying over there would benefit me, not only in terms of classes or theory, but also in terms of field-based activities, wherein I would be able to visit historically relevant sites, understand the legacy of globalized companies like Apple, Google and learn how analytical processes have helped companies expand on a global level.
The aforementioned university is an example of the USA’s educational supremacy. The university is globally renowned for its unparalleled reputation in providing world-class educational facilities. I was deeply moved by the practical orientation of its curriculum. I have also learnt about the faculty’s expertise from the university’s alumni, whom I have made recent contact with. The environment is dedicated for the holistic development and undisputed learning of students, which is why I have confirmed my decision to travel and study in this very destination.
Apart from the subjects that I have studied in my gradation-period, some of which I have already mentioned, I have also completed a digital marketing course from Internshala. I have additionally completed a project, exploring the role of Social Media in Human Resource Management. It provided an introduction to Human Resource Management, the role of social media, its significance and effects on the profession. Such experiences pertain towards the aforementioned discipline, as my experiences bridges together the two polar aspects of Business Studies and Information Technology. I also participated in Gyaan Yudh, a national level quiz competition, covering subjects like Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Marketing Management and Economics. As an extra-curricular venture, I also worked as a volunteer for Ignite (Social Welfare club of IBS) based in Hyderabad.
I completed my internship at MATEX Lasers and Automation Pvt Ltd. My job was to look after administrative tasks everyday, including research and competition marketing evaluations as well. In addition, I created extensive promotional presentations and internet content as a marketing intern. Furthermore, I completed another internship at Unschool India as a marketing intern. I was responsible for speaking with prospective clients and following up with them regarding the company’s products and services.
My leadership and community experiences stem from my indulgences in active-work environments, such as that of the companies I had worked in during my internship, and during my time helping concerned committees in organizing college fests, cultural events and so on. Working with teams and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds has truly made me realize the essence of unity and social harmony. India’s cultural diversity is truly unique, and I have come to acknowledge such features after having indulged in environments that require the collective efforts of people belonging to distinctive backgrounds.
Such indulgences have shown me the importance of inclusive social values, which are truly important for the progressive and holistic development of society. I also believe in the power of knowledge and the fact that it never saturates. In short, I shall always continue exploring, learning and growing, since there is no end to the expanse of knowledge.
My goal is basically to contribute towards the world of business, with innovative ideas, frameworks and models. Learning business analytics shall effectively add towards my skill-set, along with my present knowledge-base, which altogether shall help me bridge together the aspects of modern-digital technology and conventional business strategies, to come up with the finest tools/models for effective decision-making processes. The array of career opportunities is also vast in the field. So, with a degree from an esteemed university (like the aforementioned one) and the preference of employers for foreign-degree holders, I would inevitably have an edge in the present-day’s competition.
