Dear Sir/Madam,

Sub: Request for Student visa to pursue Healthcare Administration and Service Management at Conestoga College

I had applied for a student visa to pursue the Healthcare Administration and Service Management course at Conestoga. However, my application was rejected on the following ground:

The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

Perhaps last time, I may not have furnished full details that would convince the visa officer. Therefore, I am applying afresh. This time, I intend to travel along with my spouse, who will be of immense support to me during my stay in Canada as I pursue studies.

Education & Experience

I completed my Bachelor of Dental surgery (BDS) in 2016 with a score of 66% and then started work. Details of my education are given below.

(Write here your educational details)

I joined a multi specialty dental clinic as a general dentist on 1 November 2016 and worked here till 31 October 2019. I then joined Royal Dental Clinic as a general dentist in December 2019 and worked here till November 2022. During my studies I did a year of internship in my college’s hospital.

As can be seen from the above, I am a qualified dentist. I wish to pursue the healthcare management course to supplement my degree and to give me additional skills of management of healthcare services and administrative abilities. I will become more efficient when I work in large hospitals to manage patient related procedures, paper work, sourcing inventory, managing supplies and other matters. In this perspective too, this course is relevant to my past studies.

How this proposed course is related to my career

I have worked for 6 years as a general dentist in dental clinics. In addition to treating patients for their dental issues I also had to undertake administrative duties. It was in this sphere that I found myself lagging behind a bit because managing resources, finances, inventory, people and other related tasks were something I had not trained for and about which I did not have adequate knowledge. I intend to remove this deficiency by undertaking the proposed healthcare management course. In this regard too the course is relevant to my studies, my past work and my proposed future career as a senior dentist in a large hospital in India.

Why Conestoga?

I have chosen Conestoga because of its popularity in India for quality teaching and its focus on giving individual attention to each student. The course curriculum is designed to be easy to follow even by those who have not studied administration and management. The university’s faculty is held in high regard. The college complements theoretical training with practical project work and, possibly, brief internship. The fees are affordable and the duration is just right.

Why Canada?

I like the system of education in Canada where students can take the vocational studies path or go for higher education by stages. There are short-term courses here, courses for professionals to give them specific training and regular degree and post graduate degree courses. There is plenty of flexibility in education here. I think this system is just right for students like me who are looking to acquire managerial expertise as an added skill. Besides, the cost is affordable in Canada compared to USA/Europe and it is peaceful. I am sure my husband and I will learn much during our short stay here.

Financials

…………………….. will take care of all our expenses for the stay in Canada and the cost of my education. Currently, his annual income in India is………………….

Besides, I too have accumulated savings of Rs……………………….. that I will use to fund my education. I do not anticipate any financial issues.

We also possess immovable properties in India worth Rs…………………………………..

My family details

My father runs a business and earns enough to keep everyone in comfort. My mother…………..stays at home to take care of the family. Ours is a close-knit, traditional family with strong ties in community and with our relatives. We live in ……..which is a wonderful place.

Reasons for coming back to India

The healthcare industry in India has witnessed an unprecedented growth. Many big hospitals are coming up. They prefer professionals who are internationally trained. I can expect a managerial level job in hospitals.

I do have an obligation to my father and mother to care for them in their old age. It is my duty and I intend to repay my parents for all that they have done for me.

Kerala, where I live, is a beautiful place. It is nice, warm and sunny with greenery all around. I know people in our community and I have many friends here. I would not want to be away from them for long.

Why I am not studying a similar course in India

What I want to study is healthcare administration and service management, two very defined areas. Courses available here deal with general management topics, are lengthy and also follow an old curriculum. Conestoga offers a modern, focused course with topics that are relevant to my work and career.

There is another benefit to studying abroad in that if I seek employment in large hospitals, I will be preferred over others due to my foreign qualifications. I can get a senior level job as a manager and also head of the dentistry department. In time, Considering this and better pay prospects in India, I think it is worth the time, effort and money to study in Canada.

I hope I have amply clarified the matter justifying my pursuing studies in Canada, their relevance to my past studies and career options, and that you will now be pleased to grant me the requested student visa.

Regards
