I first became interested in data science during my undergraduate studies. I have since decided to pursue this subject because it is extremely interesting to me and is also a great avenue to build a lucrative career.

Why MS in Data Science
The Data Science program is ideal for my future aspirations. For a successful career in the domain, I must first acquire the necessary qualifications to apply for a suitable job. This course will equip me with the necessary skills. The course also offers a range of study tracks, so I believe the course will make the best use of my previous experiences while also allowing me to learn everything that I want to learn efficiently. A varied selection of electives is also an advantage. In addition, I am looking forward to working in world-class labs and with the top specialists and lecturers at the university. I believe I will be more equipped for the world as a result of this experience.
Why USA?
The United States has been at the forefront of global technological breakthroughs. I was drawn to the country for a long time because of its significance in producing ground-breaking breakthroughs in the field of Data Science. I’d like to be in an environment where I might learn by meeting people from all around the world who share my interests.
Classes/ Projects
Throughout my study, I have gained proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, SQL, and Salesforce. I also took many certificate classes to broaden my skill set. One of them was concerned with web development. In addition, I am a qualified Salesforce platform developer and a professional Salesforce administrator.
My class projects have also taught me a lot. These assisted me in contextualising information learned in class as well as developing a variety of practical skills. In one of my projects, I created gloves for impaired people that translate sign language to speech. The sign language is transformed to speech and communicated to the smartphone through Bluetooth, which spells and displays each letter.
Another noteworthy project I was a part of was titled ‘Facial recognition attendance system with temperature monitoring’. In this project, attendance is taken using a facial recognition system, with body temperature used as a validation owing to the current climate, and the final attendance sheet is emailed to the teacher.
In addition, I received a ‘B1’ in the Cambridge Business English Assessment.
Experiences
My first internship was at ‘Bharath dynamics limited,’ where I was employed for a month. My primary responsibilities included industrial temperature monitoring and system management to guarantee that the machine is run within a particular temperature range, beyond which the cooling system is activated and the machine is shut off. This internship was a very interesting experience in which I learned about working in a professional setting.
As an Associate Professional Software Engineer, I presently work for DXC Technology India Pvt Ltd. My title as a ‘Salesforce developer’ describes my job. My allocated task is to design applications in accordance with company requirements and to deliver them on schedule.
I have 1.6 years of experience in total. During my brief time here, I have learned a great deal from my coworkers and superiors. I’m grateful for the great experience that I have acquired. This event undoubtedly contributed significantly to my interest in data science.
Leadership/Community experience
The experiences that have helped me grow primarily as a leader and team player have always been profound, in that, by learning to be a meaningful part of the community. My proudest association has been with the National Cadet Corps (NCC). I was a cadet in the NCC and had achieved Grade ‘A’ from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Through this instance and others, I have also learnt lessons in humility, honesty, friendship and love. I cherish these moments dearly. My college days as well as my professional experiences have contributed immensely in this context.
My Values
I am a go-getter. I believe that I operate from a place of great determination and persistence. Whether it be in my relationships, academics or in other areas of life, I am known by my friends to be an achiever. One of my proudest achievements has been my trek in the Himalayas. I had completed a trek up to the 10,700 ft mark and was awarded a certificate from the government of Himachal Pradesh. I continue to keep this spirit alive.
Career Goals
As data becomes an important determinant and driver of most enterprises and organisations, there is an urgent need for data specialists in a variety of fields. In this regard, India is particularly fast rising. I am excited about my country’s future and aim to offer my talents and qualifications to its progress. I see myself as a data scientist at a prestigious organisation, where my abilities will be fully utilised.
