Business management shapes the future of the Corporate World. The passion for business management is instilled in me since my childhood. During my school and college vacations I would go with my father to his office. He runs his own business and I would help out. I learnt much about managing people and business by staying by his side. In fact, I was inspired by him to study commerce rather than go for IT or engineering as most youngsters do. One of my innermost desires is to help my father in his business and to become an entrepreneur. This wish leads me to study more and become able.

I have completed by undergraduate degree course in Commerce but there still remains much to be learnt to be able to work in a business environment. I believe that the Masters course in International Business Management will help me to take on challenging roles and chart out my path in life. Business always interested me since my father is in business and so are many of my relatives. I am sure that with this degree under my belt I will be able to help my father expand his business or work for an Indian company and help it to go global. This program includes essentials on international business that I wish to learn and become an expert in.

Why this university and this country

An evaluation of different and the courses available led me to conclude that Cardiff Metropolitan is far ahead of the others in matching my expectations. It has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence and its faculty is much respected in academic circles. I am sure to learn from experts and emerge truly capable. This university’s degree holds value and graduates have gone on to do well in their careers.

As for the UK, I feel that it is simply the best in terms of education. Oxford and Cambridge bear witness to the long standing tradition of academic excellence. The UK is also known for its business operations since centuries. One famous example with relevance to India is the East India Company and how its establishment in India led to development of international business in India. I do not think any other country can match the UK. Besides, I will be in close touch with people and I will acquire a veneer of sophistication that I possibly cannot get elsewhere.

Classes/projects

Apart from college studies where the curriculum includes cost accounting, business law, banking theory and Indian economy among others, I have independently taken on short term courses in finance and business management to prepare myself for regular higher studies. I am also computer literate and did a project using C++. I joined NIIT and obtained a certificate for IT Wizard Programme and Productivity.

Leadership/community experience

In our family we have a tradition of community experience. I learnt much from my parents about doing what we can for the under privileged. The recent pandemic gave me an excellent opportunity to help and I did so by taking part in community kitchens and by organizing help for those affected by unemployment. I also teach students in my spare time.

Values I bring to the institution

I have a deep sense of responsibility to my family, community and country. It drives me to do more and become capable to serve them in the best way I can. I feel passionately about our family business and cherish an ambition to help my father. I bring this dedication and commitment with me and I am sure I will do well and be an outstanding student of the university. In future, once I graduate I will do all I can to recommend it to others.

Career goals and how this course will help

On completion of this course I aim to take up a responsible position in a private business organization to help me to gain experience. For the long term I plan to join my father and take his business forward and transform it from a local entity to an international one. I am sure my qualifications, skills and knowledge will help me and I will owe it to the University forever for giving me this vital start in life. It will be transformational in every way.
