With the advent of digitization, every sector is welcoming digital tools and IT to increase efficiency. This includes the health sector too, wherein the application and utility of Health Informatics have become central to the core functioning of medical institutions across the country. Health informatics professionals basically work with digital tools to prepare, store, manage and organize health-related data. Such processes help in the design and formation of public health strategies, medical technologies and personalizing treatment plans/methods for the complete satisfaction of patients. My interest to pursue higher studies in this discipline arises from certain academic and project-based indulgences, ones that collectively hone my skills and knowledge required to excel in the discipline.

Furthermore, the university offers an array of courses, including vocational ones that aid towards the interdisciplinary growth of students. But most importantly, the curriculum for the Health Informatics department seemed sufficient to me. The theory-based papers, along with practical assignments, field-work, research work and extra-curriculars, altogether sum up the university’s unparalleled allowances, when it comes to a holistic educational experience. Such factors have motivated me to choose this particular university and country for the pursuit of higher education.
I completed two noteworthy projects pertaining towards the discipline. One was on the UV-Visible Spectrophotometer Method for the Tirzepatide Bulk Drug. The other one was on Diabetes and Obesity. It is worth noting that I’ve also worked with data-sets regarding the project on Diabetes and Obesity, wherein I got well-acquainted with the interpretation and analysis of data. This particular indulgence honed my analytical skills to significant levels, enabling me to hypothesize public health strategies through the analysis of available data. I’ve also participated in the National Level Technical and Cultural Fest, named Avishkar, in ………. This was a rather exclusive venture, as I took part in group-based activities and learned profoundly about the field, the medical industry and the current innovations that are currently on-going.
My academic and project-based experiences have collectively refined my skill-set, because I did not simply learn about theoretical elements during such times, but also had the chance to apply my practical set of skills and accomplish real-world tasks. For instance, the project on obesity taught me to interpret and understand data-sets, so that I can formulate ideas and strategize to address prevalent issues. Such attributes would indeed benefit me in the longer run, as I proceed to learn more about Health Informatics.
Indulging with teams during my graduation period also developed my sense of leadership and added towards my community-based experiences. I have met, befriended and worked with diverse people, belonging to varied cultures and communities. It was a unique experience because I got the chance to learn more about cultures, simultaneously as I learned about my core subject too.
Hence, the values that I hold on to are that of inclusivity and knowledge. Social notions shouldn’t be discriminative because it would hamper our collective pursuit to form a united and invincible society. The empowerment of knowledge further adds to our well-being by equipping us with information, wisdom, ethics and conceptual understandings, all of which form our individual personalities in society. I always believe in optimism and the power of perseverance over anything else.
The Health Informatics sector in India is also booming. With the advent of IT and growing preference for digital tools/technologies, the medical sector is well on its way to becoming partially digital in the coming years. So the requirement of data professionals in the informatics sector has risen to significant extents. I wish to engage in such work-environments and establish my career as a Health Informatics expert, so that I can merge together the innovative aspects of IT and address problematic areas that arise from our embedded reliance on conventional treatment methods. The new age provides an expanse of opportunities, and with the age of digitization, data-driven processes and IT, one can certainly explore his/her ways to come up with effective solutions and innovate the premise of health care in India.
