Statement of Purpose

My life’s work so far is a continuum and progression in the field of computer since. It is only natural that I should seek to gain additional expertise and a degree that will help me to work in a challenging position. My next step is to pursue the Masters degree in Computer Science from an international institution as per the latest global standards. I am confident I have what it takes to take on higher responsibilities in my future career.

I wish to learn in detail about artificial intelligence, data science, analysis, machine learning and neural networks that will add another layer to what I have learned during my B.Tech course. During my B.Tech course I worked on projects that involved some artificial intelligence such as the Personal Security System using Arduino for the first year and concept of development of a shoe equipped with sensors for visually challenged people. My final year project dealt with Dynamic Resource Allocation Using Virtual Machine for Cloud Computing Environment. I have examined this program and find it fits my career goals. It offers topics of interest to me and it is short-term, concentrated and flexible.

Why this university and this country

This university, I find, has an excellent reputation for top-flight education. It offers facilities for research, access to papers and a well-equipped library. Its faculty enjoys a high reputation for teaching excellence. The degrees from this university have value and I find that graduates have done well in their chosen fields. Students gain capability and competence here. As to why this country, I like its welcoming nature for students and the way it encourages innovation as well as independence. It is safe for foreign students and many students from different countries study here. I shall fit right in.

Experience

The only brief experience at work I can state is that at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. Here I worked and learnt about network technologies and handled optical fibre cables network transmission work. My project was to establish a network based on optical fiber and copper cables, which I did with success.

Classes/projects

In addition to regular studies I have undertaken classes and workshops to increase my understanding of the subject of computer science. I attended a workshop on Virtual Reality held by EEE Association of SRM University and learnt about blending AI and ML into virtual reality gaming. In addition I have studied computer science and relevant topics through Coursera.

I took part in a conference conducted by Aarush. The topic was From an Idea to a Product and, in this instance, the idea was to develop a shoe for the visually challenged, using sensors and AI to help them to overcome difficulties.

My first year project was on Personal Security System using Arduino and it earned the title of the best project from the department of physics and nanotechnology of our university.

My final year project was on Dynamic Resource Allocation using Virtual Machine for Cloud Computing Environment. I led the team and wrote a research paper in Scopus Index Journal. We worked to include biometrics and AI in the project as well as enhanced security. This project really gave me the impetus to learn more since I found many knowledge shortcomings to making it better.

Leadership/community experience

I volunteered in the Maintenance Domain for the Milan 017 fest held in Milan. I gained vital leadership experience when I volunteered for the Aarush, starting as a volunteer in the first year and eventually became a committee head in the final year.

The recent lockdown left me at a loose end but I put the time available to good use by providing food and other services to migrants and unemployed. I do believe one should care and help people in need.

Values I bring to the institution

I am studious and focused on making something of my life. I persevere and like to pursue a thing to its end. I also like interacting with people at different levels and I am a good team player. I hope to do the institution proud with my contributions.

Career goals and how this course will help

My prime goal is to attain a position of leadership and responsibility in a tech giant of India. This could be in a private enterprise where I can use my education to further business interests and refine processes. It would be gratifying to contribute to an enterprise’s growth and competitiveness. However, my heart is set on using my education in the public cause and I hope to try for and land a government job in India. My education should help to improve life of people in diverse areas such as agriculture, healthcare and education. This course will give me skills I need to achieve my goal in life.
