Statement of Purpose (SOP) for pursuing Information Technology at Governors State University in the USA.
The advent of Information Technology has brought about an array of changes/transitions in our lives. IT has brought distances closer through social media networks, and made life somewhat easier/convenient through mobile applications and softwares that serve a variety of purposes. For instance, mobile applications have immensely helped in easing out the processes for shopping, traveling, booking tickets and so on. The advent and growth of India’s IT sector is well on its way to becoming one of the world’s prominent leaders too. The range of opportunities is vast and constantly expanding. My interest to pursue higher studies in this course stems from my academic background, specific indulgences, work experience and of course the rising preference/demand for the IT sector in today’s age of digitization. I have elaborated every detail underneath for better clearance.
I passed my matriculation exam from …………….. in …………. with a score of ………….I passed my intermediate exam, in ……….. …………… with a score of ………… I graduated from the department of ………….. (Computer Science), ………. and …………… in ……….. with a score of ………. I completed my Post Graduation from ……………………………… in 2014, with an overall score of ……………. So, my academic background in Computer Science lays down the fundamental basis upon which my interest and passion to pursue higher studies in Information Technology stands. The details about my other (related) ventures shall reflect more about my skills and knowledge that is required for this particular course. But, prior to that, I shall briefly state my reasons for traveling to the USA, for pursuing higher education.
When it comes to Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Social Science and Computer Science, the US is undoubtedly the best place to go for. The country has a legacy of unparalleled digital expansion/growth, where homegrown companies like Google, Meta, Twitter, and many more have revolutionized people’s lifestyles. The global digital expansion was simply outrageous. Innovation is still on-going with continuous research, experiments and applications at historically relevant sites, such as Silicon Valley. Students who travel to the USA to pursue higher studies in IT shall enjoy the exclusive opportunity of visiting such monolithic sites. They can learn about the discipline, as well as industry-specific dynamics with sheer profundity and in-sights. The USA is furthermore renowned for its provision of top-tier educational facilities.
This university is an example of USA’s world-class educational institutes/facilities. The course structure is brilliantly elaborate, bridging together every aspect of theory and practice together, without persistent gaps. Moreover, the campus’ environment is well attuned for the undisputed learning and holistic development of students. With the allowance of vocational courses and practice of inclusive policies, the university welcomes everyone wholeheartedly to provide an exceptional experience in education. So, these are the factors that have led me to decide where I want to pursue higher studies from. Let us now move into the details of my specific indulgences that pertain towards the aforementioned discipline.
Apart from the basic/fundamental subjects that I had already covered during my graduation, I also completed an AWS Certified DevOps Engineering Diploma Course (Professional Level) [DOP-C02]. I completed a project on Marketing, entitled Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy. The project was related to sales and distribution channels, wherein I also merged together certain aspects of my IT knowledge too. During my graduation-period, third year to be precise, I had already begun working as a Business Development Executive at an IDEA Network (Telecommunication department) in my hometown’s rural area. After having post-graduated, I turned towards the field of IT and selected the stream of AWS CLOUD with DEVOPS. I eventually started working as a Professional Software Engineer.
I first worked at E-SOL Technologies Pvt.Ltd as their DevOps Software Engineer, from 2nd November ………… and I’m currently designated as their Senior Software and Site Reliability Engineer. I started working here from 6th January, 2022. So, my indulgence in such an active-work environment has significantly honed my knowledge-base and skill-set required to excel in disciplines such as Information Technology. I have become well-acquainted with programming tools, web development and mobile application development softwares/technologies. It is also worth noting that my aspirations never got satiated from such indulgences. I always wanted to explore, relearn and rebuild myself, to become an individual of extraordinary capabilities. Which is why I’ve always strived to learn more and have placed consistent efforts to bring/introduce something unique to the field. My self-driven motivation to learn has led me to the decision of pursuing higher studies in IT.
Working as a Senior Software Engineer boosted my leadership skills to significant extents. I used to get tasked with leading roles, wherein I had to manage teams, check the progress of assignments and assure successful completion with minimal hindrances. Having worked with people, guiding them and making the process comfortable for me, as well as for them, has heightened my sense of management, sharpened my analytical skills and most importantly heightened certain attributes that pertains towards strong leadership. I strongly believe that it is essential to learn and withhold such attributes/qualities for the undisputed functioning of any organization. Indulging with teams also taught me inclusive social values, wherein working with diverse people belonging to different communal/religious backgrounds has opened my mind towards our country’s unique cultural and ethnic diversity, altogether adding towards my community experience as well.
Along with the inheritance of inclusive values, I have also learnt the importance of unity, perseverance, teamwork and adherence. I always believe in the infinite power of knowledge. With such values and a motivated sense of self, I shall always explore within my field-of-work, to come up with the best solutions and address real-world issues that are still prevalent. I also want to keep researching, learning and developing my skills to an extent, so that I may be able to come up with technologies that are able to address the issues we are facing on ecological grounds as well. In short, I want to create innovative technologies that thrust sustainable development.
As already mentioned, India is gradually shaping up to be a majorly data-intensive economy with a rigid IT infrastructure. Henceforth, the need for professionals in the field is rising incessantly, in most avenues, as every sector is shifting towards IT processes, to meet/cope with the current standards of globalization and digitization. I believe, with my raging passion, interest and knowledge on the discipline of Information Technology, I can quite easily establish my career by securing a well-acknowledged position in an organization. My goal is to thrust innovation and add towards my home country’s progress without hindering ecological and social harmony.
