Statement of Purpose (SOP) Information Systems in University of Colorado, Denver USA
Information Systems play a massive role in this present digital age. Companies are on the constant lookout for solutions, decision-making, networking and other related tools to cope with the rising tide of development. The demand for professionals in the field of Information Systems have risen to great extents. My interest to pursue higher studies in this course stems from my academic background, certain education and professional ventures, along with my own personal interest in topics like cyber security and social networking. I have elaborated every detail underneath, all of which reflect my skill-set, knowledge-base and my enthusiasm to pursue higher education in Information Systems.
I passed my 10th boards (matriculation) exam from ………………………. in ………. with a score of ………. CGPA. I passed my twelfth boards (intermediate) exam from ……………………………… in ……… with a score of …….. marks out of ………. I completed my graduation from MVSR Engineering College, in ………… with a score of ……….. It is worth noting that I graduated from the department of CSE (Computer Science and Engineering), so I have already covered or studied the basic subjects pertaining towards the discipline. I have specified every other reason why I intend to pursue higher studies in Information Systems, but before that let me briefly elaborate why I want to pursue higher studies in the USA.
The USA is the inception point of the Digital Revolution, from where an array of information systems, information technologies, digital services and tech-giants have emerged. The way how companies like Meta, Apple, Google and others have globalized themselves is beyond fascinating. As a student, I will have the opportunity of visiting Silicon Valley and learn about information systems, new innovations and developing technologies in-person. The allowance of field-work in the USA is unique, as compared to other nations.
The country also sustains an unparalleled reputation of educational excellence. The University of Colorado is an example of the same, wherein students have shared great experiences and have recommended the university, especially for higher studies in disciplines like Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science and Social Science. The course-structure is brilliantly elaborate and oriented for the holistic development of students. The campus provides an environment where students can learn and grow without any hindrance. Furthermore, the university is strict about its inclusive policies, so that students do not go through any nuisance or discrimination whatsoever. Hence, for such reasons I have decided to travel and study in the USA.
I have completed diploma courses in Cyber Security Essentials and Packet Tracer, conducted by Cisco Networking Academy; CCNA: Introduction to Networks by EduSkills; Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning in Java by Oracle Academy; Machine Learning with Python by Verzeo; GCP For Beginners — Become a Google Cloud Digital Leader Activity and Google Cloud Developer — GCP Professional Certification. I have also completed a project on the Detection of Non-Helmet Vehicles and Extraction of Number Plates using YOLOV2 and OCR. The other project I completed was on the development of a Hospital Management System.
I did my internship as a Program Analyst (trainee) from Cognizant. I used tools like ADM — Java Full Stack and completed a project on the development of an Employment Management System using Java and react-based web applications. I later joined as a full-time employee in the same organization, as a Software Engineer Trainee. I have been working for a project under a Google client. Such indulgences/experiences have effectively honed my knowledge-base and skill-set to profound levels, wherein I got acquainted with the usage and development of information systems. I learned to engage in such work-environments, work alongside teams and most importantly learned how to utilize my skills to accomplish tasks pertaining to the discipline.
During college, I used to take part in cultural activities and helped the organizing committees to conduct fests/events. I had the opportunity of working with people belonging to diverse backgrounds, even in the organization I currently work in. I have learned the importance of social inclusiveness and how important unity is when it comes to the holistic and harmonious development of society. Working in a fast-paced environment has improved my managerial and analytical skills, altogether giving me noteworthy leadership and community-building experiences.
My value-base now tells me that struggle is a part of life and failure is a development aspect of any process. I also believe in the values of sustainable progress and perseverance. Knowledge is an eternally flowing river and I shall always strive to learn more, grow as an individual and contribute towards the field with innovative ideas/designs/concepts.
My goal is to contribute towards my country’s pace of development. India is gradually emerging as a global leader in the field of IT. As an enthusiast in the field of Information Systems, I wish to present new ideas and to my best of effort, address prevailing issues. I also share an interest in exploring the field of cybersecurity and cyber analytics. Henceforth, I shall always explore, conduct research and develop technologies that make the internet a safe virtual space for its users.
